A non negotiable for me is to thank God for waking me up. Followed by verbally asking God, "What do you want me to do today for your kingdom and glory?" The second non negotiable is moving my body in some capacity. Thirdly, I must eat breakfast and drink a gallon of water daily. Adding to my practice will be your numbers 2,5 6,7 thank you so much, Rashawnda! 🎉🙏🏽😊 My kids and I love your work!!! THANK YOU!!! 👏🏽🤩🎊

For me, my mother doesn't know what balance means. She is either on 150% of the time or completely off. Realizing she beat that attitude into me and that, despite being a productive and effective worker, I often take on 200% workloads to make myself feel "accomplished." I know this is also rooted in growing up as a fat kid, you get productivity and hard work held over your head a lot more lest you become "lazy" for resting. I'm still learning to rest, I'm still learning to hug myself when my mind's conditioning wants to yell, but I'm learning. It's hard to unpack years of intensity and survival-mode, but I appreciate you pointing out the sources of life and joy get neglected when all we praise is "the grind."

I forgot to add, I protect my morning time from getting distracted with other people or things. I will say to myself, this is my use-my-energy-only-for-me time. Especially helpful for me if I pick up my phone automatically, I’ll have to catch myself before I end up putting my energy into others or social media or something.

I use to think that rest was bad, I mean, when I found me resting inmediatly strated to felt guilt, then I realiced that rest is not just good, it is necesary for a good mental health so I´m still working on it but I learned to give me and enjoy this little moments of peace that I give myself

When it comes to being a caregiver or helping a loved one, how do you set boundaries with them? The last 5 years I've been helping my grandmom out, but she has been trying to force me to be her caregiver, that's not something I want to do. I just want to be a granddaughter and help her out, but not the other stuff that comes with it. My grandmom lives on her own, and I do help her out a lot with running errands and keeping her company. But I feel more like a servant when I'm at her house. I am 31 and these last few years I feel like she has been controlling me, even when I'm home it's like I have no life of my own because she constantly just wants to run me around. When I try to say no, she guilt trips me and manipulates me and that is something she does a lot. I am not saying I want to stop helping her, but I am saying that she shouldn't make me feel bad for wanting to live my life and she shouldn't guilt trip me or manipulate me when she can't get her way. And it's not just me that she does this to either, it's other people. But the difference is they know how to be assertive when telling her no when she's running them dry, me, not so much. I'm trying to come up with the words to tell her how I feel without coming off as mean.

It's May 2024 and I just stumbled upon your video! I'm a mental health advocate, TN CPRS and Mindshift Coach of the Christian faith. I've joined you in the fight to increase knowledge and understanding of mental health. I created a video podcast, The Black Mental Health Forum, that features black mental health professionals. I host a bi-monthly support group, Transitioning From Trauma for 40+ black Christian women who have experienced childhood trauma. And a new service, Listening Sessions, that mimics a therapy session. I'm the author of the book, God, Why Did You Save Me? And I'm building a childhood trauma platform to increase the awareness of it.

adult siblings can do these as well so or really any age family member 20 - 25+ and while the brain isn't fully formed till 25 I put in our slightly younger ones due to they're formed enough that if they're casually abusing you in anyway that won't resolve by the time they hit 25 either. It's more like see the signs, put in the boundaries, or go no contact.

A non negotiable for me is I have to mediate at least 10 to 15 minutes per day and cleanse my energy. It is essential to my overall well-being in my opinion. I think because of your video I need to add prayer and my cards daily even if it just pulling one card to help me be aware of what I need to focus on.
